You can almost guarantee SDCC will not be a new figure. Most of the companies that partake in SDCC Exclusives NEVER release new figure molds as SDCC Exclusives. Commonly, the new molds might be an extra accessory or something else small, simple and cheap. It's always repaints. Hasbro, Mattel, Lego, NECA, McFarlane, old Bandai and even newcomers like Funko have almost always done repaints. While you guys have some good ideas for SDCC "new mold" releases. Honestly, it's wishful thinking and will likely never happen. Hasbro has, actually, been really good at not just doing repaints for the past few years of Marvel Legends SDCC exclusives. Getting box sets of 3-5 characters with at least one of them being a totally new sculpt and the rest being new characters. Of course, the nature of lines like Marvel Legends/DCUC/MOTUC/etc. do involve reuse of bucks with new accessories, heads, hands, and other pieces. Most of the SDCC box sets are the only way to get the characters contained in them, and if you miss out on them it's very unlikely you will be able to get most of them at retail. Like the Thunderbolts box set, that's the only way to get pretty much all of the team. It looks like this years SDCC set is going to have completely unique molds of Dormammu and Magik in it. That's been very well received, because it allows Hasbro to keep slots open for retail and get out characters that otherwise wouldn't be a good fit for retail.

Excellent points. I think that's also a big selling point that Bandai is not aware of or at least may be aware of in recent times is how well characters can sell at retail.
As for Hasbro and their new molds. I wouldn't be surprised if MOST of the figure is a re-use of an old mold. The Marvel Legend catalog is so vast that reusing old molds is not out of the norm and recognizing it is sometimes difficult. There may be pieces that are new like the head sculpt or something. I used to collect GI Joe and Hasbro would often re-use body parts for "new" characters and toss in a new head sculpt.
But I like that Hasbro is picking out somewhat obscure characters for "new" molds (sorry, I only say that bc I haven't seen whether the figures are true new molds or reusing pieces). If Tamashii goes that route, I hope they pick obscure characters for SDCC. I feel the popular ones should be more widely available for DBZ fans. I don't know many Magik or Dormammu fans off the top of my head so it should be easily available for those true fans to actually obtain.

What if this year's sdcc is arlian nappa, and then months after sdcc nappa is released?

They would have to release Regular Nappa first before doing an SDCC version of him, or they could do Arlian Nappa at SDCC but also announce regular Nappa too. That could probably work

You mean this one? This only happened because they digitally changed his hair to black after the animation because they decided that Pikkon shouldn't know about Super Saiyan yet. BUT Tamashii hasn't had a problem with anime oddities so far! It's very obscure, more so than Original Animation Vegeta. BUT I'd buy it if they made it. And it could double as False Super Saiyan from Movie 4 too.

Wave, ya that first pic. I think it would be cool to have that goku. Whether or not pikkon was supposed to know about it or not. And we can also pose him as if he is powering up with the original ssj goku next to him. What do you think? And because it only happened in movie 4 and in that episode would that hair style and color be ruled out? Or is there still a chance that theyd make it? Or wpuld we just have to custom a super saiyan head?
