If they EVER do a GT Kai or some type of reboot of GT, they have to make Goku an adult, get rid of or shorten the Trunks, Pan, and Goku adventure, and give other characters a chance to shine. It WAS very Goku centric but I will say that if GT got something right, it was character design. It had a lot of great ideas and concepts, but in the end, it was executed poorly. With a little more time and effort, it could've been a worthy continuation to DBZ
now with the new BoG movie. and the new 2015 movie, I don't know if we'll get GT Kai
You haven't figured it out yet? I'm the Saiyan who came all the way from Earth for the sole purpose of beating you. I am the warrior you've heard of in legends, pure of heart and awakened by fury. That's what I am. I AM THE SUPER SAIYAN, SON GOKU!
Instead of GT Kai; I wouldn't oppose GT being cut and edited into three 90 minute movies - Baby, Super 17 and Shadow Dragons. Scrap the other stuff. I think the world's had enough of Dolltaki and the Para Para Brothers; no offense.
I am the Darkness in the Dream. I am the Power and the Passion in the Pain. I am the Fury in the Frost. I am the Future; for No Savior has been Saved.
That's not true. I could name off five shows you actually would prefer over GT. Like 24 for example.
24 is great, or was great, but I don't know if I could watch it through again. GT, I can at least watch a 5th, 6th, and 7th time. Though the first 34 episodes are a struggle. And no, don't say Drake and Josh. You watched that secretly. haha
gotenks You haven't watched DB at all? Please.....watch it. Puts GT to shame.
@~VR~ 3rd favorite overall, then come the non-DB related shows.
Actually, it was Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide that you watched secretly. Lol.
And I actually don't even classify this anime as three separate branches anymore. I include the three branches as a whole and one anime, simply known as "Dragon Ball." I don't even say "Dragon Ball Z" anymore. Its out of my vocabulary almost entirely. Its all one story line, so why treat them as separates? In most cases though, I can understand GT being counted out, for it is sort of garbage and not purely Toriyama's work. If you were to ask me, I actually think that "Dragon Ball Z" should have ended after Cell, like it was originally supposed to!! Super Saiyan 3, fusions, Majin Buu absorbing people and regenerating from fumes and smoke, Elder Kai giving his life up for Goku to return were over the top and became very mundane. It took out the individuality of characters and started to eliminate the old fashioned value of hardcore training. Fusions, the Elder Kai unlocking powers, and absorption were like "cheats" and acts of bullcrap power increases. I feel Toriyama didn't truly desire the continuation, I feel he was pressured by fans to continue because they wanted Goku to come back and be the hero. Fans, as much as we are fans ourselves, I will honestly admit, push things over the top and ruin the core quality of masterpieces by their empty obsessions. People try to fix something or add to something that is not broken.
That's why I still consider them three different pieces. Dragonball is not like Dragonball Z and Dragonball Z is not like Dragonball GT. Thus, Dragonball GT is like neither of them as well. Plus when my opinion differs SO much when I compare DB to DBGT for example, it's hard to consider them "the same."
NDSSG was your favorite!

MP8 I agree with you. Dragon Ball is Goku's saga and it ended perfectly at the Cell Games. Being a huge Vegeta fan, I loved the closure for his character, but it was unnecessary to the overarching story. That really hit me when I read the manga for the first time. I didn't enjoy the Boo saga, because there was no point of it. Now if I read or watch it from just a "Dragon Ball Z" perspective, it seems like Vegeta was a main character from the start and therefore it's necessary for resolution for his character. However, that's not the case. I still love the Vegeta stuff in that saga and certain things they established. I agree with you on Super Saiyan 3, the fusions, and Boo. I also hated the kids being able to turn Super Sayian as well. There's a lot to like in the Boo saga, but those things irk me a bit! I love the tv specials, Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Returns, and Battle of Gods though. The whole concept of the Super Saiyan God and Vegeta surpassing Goku was silly, but I'm happy it got rid of SSJ3. The non-canon movies, I dislike because they're just soul-less cash grabs. Or at least when it comes to the villains. I always like the first 15 minutes where it's just the characters hanging out. I did enjoy Dead Zone and the first Broly movie though.
I find it kind of odd that fans want to break it up in such small sagas. Some of them, like the "Trunks saga," are not sagas. From the moment Goku meets Bulma to when he flies off with Oob that's the end of the saga. I understand for marketing purposes, you'd want to break it up though.
Wait is this a GT topic? I hate it!

Indeed, GT Panny had so much potential from end of Z + Toriyama's loli design for her, shame Toei made fans hate the poor girl
Baby - The tsufuls being evil started with the famicom game - DBZ Gaiden with Dr. Raichi and Hatchyack, why the hfil does Toei wanted to make another tsuful, and to add salt to the wound, have Vegeta being possesed by him? We ALL know Toei hates Vegeta, but that's a shot to the heart for Vegeta fans Goku jr - Really, what's the point in creating this loser? Goku, Goku, Goku - GT may stand for "Grand tour" but in Toei's eyes it most likely stands for "Goku time", Goku MUST be the hero of the series they say, the others are nothing. Also Cell absorbing Goku is a no no to Toei i geuss? Goku is a kid again - Why the hfil Toei thought of that? The series lost it's charm when Goku became a kid Pan's personality - They turned a cute loli girl to an annoying spoiled agressive brat who cry for no reason, really even her DBM version had better personality Bra the overgrown 9 year old #$% - Really, don't be fooled by her adult look, Bra is only 9 in GT, so why does she look so mature? We will never know Nameless Namekian's Dragon Balls - OK, that makes no sense, if the hcild of Kattaz made Dragon Balls, how the hfil Piccolo Daimaou doesn't know what they are?! Goku's tail growing back - It's stated in the Piccolo jr/23TB saga that God permantly removed Goku's tail so the moon can go back, so why can it grow back?! On the top of that, why Vegeta needs a blutz waves to go SSJ4? Couldn't his tail just regrow? No Gotenks - The most badass form of Goten and Present Trunks doesn't apear in GT? Why? Toei knows! GOKU! Godnaiccolo dies - Darn, for a show in which Piccolo jr is Toriyama's fave character, that must've really made him sad Ripping off older character for supporting/evil characters - Zounama is Oolong, Para Para brothers are Pilaf gang, the people of the Earth being evil is a homage to Garlic jr saga

I finally finished watching the entire series and I loved it. I would go so far to say that I felt the ending of GT was better than the ending of Z. I don't think comparing them is fair though since my only complaint with GT is that their isn't another 6 or 7 seasons.

The first 30 or so episodes of GT are a real bore....much like with Super. To me, Baby was another idea with lots of potential, that fell flat on its face. Baby was just BORING. Then GT got better. Not great, though. The Super 17 saga was awesome, but rushed, and the Cell/Frieza returns were humiliating. The Shadow Dragons saga was a really good idea, but the fact they made half of the dragons pushovers was disappointing. Not to mention Pan was there every episode....
I'll give the edge to Super 17 for best GT saga. He absolutely annihilates SS4Goku. It was impressive.
GT: good ideas, bad execution.

Good points: Super Sayian 4 transformation (still the coolest transformation in all series imo); Gogeta; Super 17; end of the series.
Bad points: Boring characters design; Pan annoying af; it's all about Goku, the rest of the characters didn't have a big role to save the day; poor and boring fights; didn't really enjoy most of the OST's.

It amuses me when discussing GT with fans how universally they all dismiss the looooong space travel arc... But I also remember when Funimation tried to skip straight to Baby and fans online threw a freaking fit because OMG they skipped content GAWD.
Meanwhile I was just sitting back like "pfft, you idiots" because I had watched it subbed prior to the dub. I don't even think I've watched more than a few episodes of the dub, it wasn't worth watching again.
