I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in buying some figures, but I preordered the Broly, and figure he would be a decent start. I ordered the Perfect Cell and he's on the way, I hope he a a decent figure too

Quick question. Do old figuarts releases get sold in cons? I remember Branjita telling us there was saiyan vegeta for sale at A-kon. Also, android 17 bought a frieza from NYCC. So does that mean that old figuarts get produced for cons or were these left overs or something? Would this trend continue over the next cons?? Idea anyone?

Well, A-kon in June had Frieza, Cell, Goku, saiyan saga Vegeta, SS Goku, Piccolo, SDCC Piccolo, and Krillin. Figuarts Zero SS Goku, SS Vegeta, SS Trunks. So several of those were very old.
The prices were raised though on older ones. Frieza was 55, Cell 60, Vegeta 70 or 80, SDCC Piccolo 80, Krillin 45 I think. Goku, SS Goku, and Piccolo were new and 39, 35, 32 I think. Zero SS Vegeta was brand new at the time and was 25. I don't remember other prices.

YES and I highly recommend you go to some big local ones to find good deals. At SDCC 2014 this year, Bluefin was selling a lot of the recent year releases, mainly Scouter Vegeta (~$85), Frieza (~$55) and Cell (~$65). They did jack their prices up a little but compared to the market at that time in the summer, these were GREAT deals. All figures were also still sealed in the brown shippers. I also bumped into a dealer who was selling Cell for $53 cause they also had a discount deal at their booth. They had all the Figuarts ZERO, Power Rangers, Robot Spirits, and some D-Arts on sale as well. Anime Expos are the best places. Unless it's a big comic-con with a recognized Anime community, you won't have much luck beyond finding the usual releases (for example, went to Baltimore Comic-con and all they had were the recent releases like SSJ Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, etc.) I don't believe all of Tamashii "Web Exclusive" mumbo jumbo talk. I've been around in the collecting community long enough to know the word "exclusive" is thrown around loosely and at the end of the day, it's a business. If there's money and profit to be made, it's stupid to not release wanted product. Also, Tamashii has re-released the Figuarts ZERO SSJ Goku SEVERAL TIMES (apparently there's more shipments going out) which has been said to be a Web Store Exclusive. For an "unpopular" line, DBZ pre-orders seem to regularly sell out MONTHS in advance on the Tamashii Webshop.

Wow, i went to NYCC and only saw Android 17. I'm not familiar with NYCC but if it tends to be more oriented to Western comics and pop culture, you might not see as much. Were there a lot of anime vendors? SDCC attracts a lot of variety. They have a large number of anime vendors and popular companies involved in anime/manga have large booths like Funimation, Viz, Bandai, etc.

i saw this post in other forums. part of me wants to believe "Tamashii will openly answer questions on their Twitter. They have been asked who can be rereleased, and they said anyone. Especially when a new country gets a Bluefin lisenced store. Piccoli and SS Goku were just rereleased for the European market. Gohan, SS Vegeta, and Trunks are rumored to be next for them."

is it true that Bluefin rerelease figures whenever there's a new country acquired a licensed store?

So it's quite settled then. Go to a major con and you'll find the somewhat rare figures (no SS vegeta or trunks). Now I hope they'll still have cell and vegeta in next year's comic con.

I found a Frieza for $70 in the summer at fan expo in toronto. Cell was around $90. No signs of Vegeta. I'd take a guess and say as the year goes on those will only be harder and harder to get your hands on as the prices will rise.

There is no such thing... They are stock leftovers of Bluefin. The Figuarts Zero SSJ Goku also only had a single production line release. It is not unheard of before that some products get import shipment to new Tamashii markets or a jp Premium Bandai shop restock,it does not necessarily mean that it's a second production line release.

From what I understand, SS Goku and Piccolo were rereleased specifically for the new (back then) European market/distributing system, but US distributors got them too. Timone knows this stuff really well since he has been collecting the figures since practically the beginning.
