Irwin's Yakon figure is one of the coolest figures I own. Technically I have a Jakks rerelease that isn't painted as well as the original, but it's so cool that he can pick up another character and still stand up unassisted.

I thinK the Bandai 97s are the most under rated figures when it come to American releases.
Not too many people understand how rare they are yet when you can find them they are still pretty cheap. Another one that baffles me lol

I agree with Branjita. I'd expand on it though. Irwin's Yakon, Pui Pui, Spopovich, and Dabura are some of the best ones offered in the Irwin series to me. I still hate Irwin as a company overall as they were going to deliver my favorite pieces but managed to idiotically go bankrupt in the final stages of the best series to come. They would have finally offered the pieces I was looking forward to the most, specifically those of my favorite character. This is why I prefer the Japanese companies, particularly Bandai and even more specifically Banpresto. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedI'm still hoping an American company will one day undertake these designs and go with them, delivering my favorite American-released piece.

^Irwin just never knew how popular DBZ would become. They couldn't keep up with the demand for DBZ figures.

What are some American figures that you think are underrated and why? Bandai America's Dragon Stars line. The sculpts, articulation, etc. isn't far off what you get with the S.H. Figuarts line considering the Figuarts are $100 (CAD) while the Dragon Stars are only $40. I'd buy the Dragon Stars over the Figuarts any day.

Underrated:
striking ginyu, in a line of mostly duds he was really cool and finally gave us a proper sized ginyu.
Overrated:
All the late jakks figures that share the same legs/arms. Don't get me wrong it was nice to get some figures that we hadn't gotten before (bojack) but it came across as extremely cheap and lazy to me.

I think the Irwin snap together model kits were extremely underrated. Perfect Cell looks amazing and Dr. Gero cool too. Not to mention you can display over 20 additional figure versions by changing their parts. Also the pieces all interconnect with the Bandai and AB model lines, which introduce quite a few new characters. They also display well with academy and other model lines to make quite an impressive collection.

Can you give some examples please of how the different model parts from the non Irwin kits can be combined with other models. If you have a model kit collection I'd love to see a pic, also I didn't know Dr. Gero got a model kit. I really think all 3 Power Up figures are outstanding. Piccolo, Super Buu and Vegito have great sculpts and just enough articulation that with the dynamic sculpting offers some really fun posing and play options. Irwin managed to do something that only ToyBiz and Kenner have done before or since to my knowledge and that's provide figures that can be posed and played with while still haveing action features that fit the characters and that don't get in the way of posing. You know like a toy that can be played with lol.

A good example of parts switching on the Irwin model kits is Goku's body with SS adult Gohan's head, upper arms from a saiyan in armor and one of goku's forearms to make a future Gohan. Even SS trunks in armors head looks really cool on the regular Trunks model that never had a SS head option.
